This is the 24th Metro Manila Pride. It attracted over 25,000 participants. Queer Asia - Philipines followed this year's Manila Pride and interviewed 9 LGBTQ+ members who are out and proud, to show the world the diverse stories within the community.

Episode one of Queer Asia - Philipines takes off with the story of a visual-impaired lesbian. She narrates how she her very intimate coming out story to her parents as a blind person.
Hannah Mae Aldeza is 31 years old. Being blind and lesbian did not bring her down, instead, she is a positive girl pursuing her master's study in Women and Development. When it comes to her relationship with her family, she said that her family accepts that she is blind, but not being a lesbian. It is sad that being blind and being lesbian are both decided at birth, but Hannah was kicked out of her house because she brought a girl home.

Hannah cannot see, what attracts her of someone is not the physical appearance, but the personality and the connection between them. When she talks about her first relationship and coming out to her mother, she ponders, "why is it only normal when a man and a woman are together?" Hannah is proud of being a lesbian blind woman. She supports the LGBT community in their fight to find acceptance within their family.
