It is at the same party that Mia, then, announces her engagement to her boyfriend Tim and meets Frida, Elizabeth's fun-loving daughter in person. While Mia is initially wary to be accepted into Elizabeth's family. she nevertheless reluctantly agrees to a weekend getaway to an island with Frida and Elizabeth. Upon being forced to share a bedroom with Frida, Mia suddenly finds herself fascinated by Frida's free-spirited enjoyment of life and eventually begins to gain an interest in her.

It is while they're on the island that Mia and Friday decide to walk in the woods one night. Owing to their growing attraction for each other and engrossed in the spur-of-the-moment, Mia boldly kisses Frida that ultimately leads to an amorous embrace between the two. We have to admit that this particular moment in the film had all of us stunned because judging by Mia's reluctance towards her soon-to-be stepmom and stepsister, we thought it would be Frida would have taken the first initiative with Mia. And even though Mia had eventually begun to warm up to Frida and her fun-spirited way of life over their getaway, it still surprised us that it was Mia who took the first shot with Frida.
